Pakistani Designer Embroidered Dresses

Embroidery is the souvenir of women dresses, and it has been in fashion since early times. Women used to embroider flowers and birds not only on their dresses, but on household linens and their men’s shirts as well. Initially, embroidery was only limited to simple thread work, stitched in different patterns but as the time moved forward and art started to innovate, so did the patterns and methods of embroidery.

Pakistani dresses have had a very long relationship with the embroidery. The traditional attire of the four provinces showcases the different and distinguishable type of threadwork usually done by hands. The art of cultural embroidery is not limited to threadwork only; it also involves sequences and other embellishments which are woven into the fabric carefully with hands.

Contemporary embroidery involves the use of embroidery machines which are faster than hand work and more accurate. The designs created by machines are exquisitely detailed which imparts splendor and beauty to the dress.

In Pakistan, the start of every season is denoted not usually with the change of weather, but by the launch of designer clothing collections. Different fabric houses and designers launch their pret wear series, which includes pakistani dresses online for the women in material befitting the season.

These dresses come in a variety of forms. Some of them are merely printed with beautiful abstracts and digital prints, it’s very difficult to reckon whether it’s the dress or an actual picture of a scenery.

The printed dresses are by far the cheapest one in the collection because they don’t have any embellishments on them; the digital prints are more expensive because they require complex printing techniques. The most expensive dresses among the new collection are the ones that are embroidered.

The embroidered designer dresses are painstakingly designed and then they go through the complex embroidery process. The end result that we see in a dress is not a simple process and this is the reason that they cost much more than a simple printed dress. In the year 2023, the new designer collections that have launched until March are Elan, Alkaram, gul ahmed clothing, Origins, Beach Tree, Zeen, Ethnic, Motifz, Junaid Jamshed, Maria B., Orient, and designers which are not very well known but have the potential to become well known in the upcoming years.

All these are very high-end brands and their dresses are one of a kind. Almost all of these designers have launched heavily embroidered dresses which look elegant and not douche with the embroidery.

Maria B. set the benchmark with her last year’s collection and so did Elan. Their collection was highly appreciated and short in the market from the start and this year they have set the standards even higher. Though their dresses are very expensive, but they are worth it.

Alkaram and Gul Ahmed favor bold floral prints this year with delicate embroidery. The dresses of Motifz are heavily embroidered and they can be easily worn for any semi-formal event.
